Your responsibilities will include: Providing security for various protectees. Conducting criminal investigations related to the financial responsibilities of the United States. Ability to carry and use a firearm; maintaining firearm proficiency is mandatory. Must be at least 21 years old
at the time of application and under 40 at referral. Age exceptions may apply for current or former federal law enforcement personnel with special retirement provisions. Obtain and retain a Top Secret Clearance throughout your career. Uncorrected visual acuity should not be worse than 20/100 binocular, and corrected vision must be 20/20 or better in each eye. Hearing loss (measured by an audiometer) must not exceed 25 decibels in either ear at 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz. Pass a drug test before your appointment and submit to random drug testing throughout your employment. Complete 13 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA, followed by 18 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD. Agree to a mobility commitment, accepting assignments anywhere in the U.S. and overseas. Certify your registration with the Selective Service System or indicate your exemption, if you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959.
