Total Rewards Manager

The Manager of Total Rewards is responsible for the design, administration, and continuous improvement of the Firm’s benefits, wellness, and employee recognition programs. This role ensures compliance with all applicable regulations while enhancing the employee experience through competitive and well-managed total rewards offerings. The position serves as a key liaison across HR, leadership, and external vendors to align programs with business objectives and organizational culture.

Technical Expertise & Quality

Manage day-to-day administration of all health, welfare, and wellness programs (medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, etc.)

Oversee leave of absence programs including FMLA and other statutory and company-provided leaves

Evaluate benefit plan performance and identify enhancements that reflect the evolving needs of a professional services workforce.

Collaborate with the CPO to design and manage salary structures, incentive compensation, and total rewards offerings

Partner with the HR Business Partners to manage the annual compensation review cycles, including merit increases, market benchmarking, and pay equity analyses.

Conduct compensation surveys and analysis of niche roles (e.g., CPAs, tax specialists, audit managers).

Work with YHB’s vendors, brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal plan design and cost-efficiency.

Provide reporting to firm leadership, supporting strategic decision-making with data-driven insights related to total rewards, benefits, and employee recognition.

Ensure total rewards programs align with federal, state, and local laws (e.g., FLSA, ERISA, ACA) as well as internal policies.

Maintain documentation and governance for all compensation and benefits practices.

Manage preparation and filing of Form 5500, 1095-C distribution, and BLS reporting

Coordinate and oversee HIPAA training and related compliance initiatives

Develop clear, compelling communications that help team members understand and maximize their total rewards.

Drive firm-wide recognition initiatives, promoting programs that celebrate individual and team achievements while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and values-driven workplace aligned with the professional services environment.

Continuous Learning & Professional Development

Stay current on trends and best practices in total rewards, particularly in professional services and accounting sectors.

Attend industry seminars, conferences, and forums to continuously evolve firm offerings.

Contribute to the development and delivery of total rewards education for employees and managers.

Strong analytical skills and data fluency; able to interpret compensation data, create models, and present insights clearly.

High level of discretion, integrity, and judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate across all levels of the firm.

Proficiency in Excel and experience with HRIS (UKG) and compensation tools.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders in a deadline-driven, client-focused environment.

Ability to balance compliance, market competitiveness, and internal equity.

Education, Experience, & Other Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.

7-10 years of progressive experience in compensation, benefits, and employee recognition programs.

Experience in public accounting, consulting, or another professional services environment strongly preferred.

Certification in compensation or benefits (e.g., CCP, CBP, SHRM) is a plus.
