Construction Superintendent - Traveling

Our client, a nationally recognized general contractor specializing in large-scale retail construction, is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to oversee projects across the United States. This role will primarily focus on Walmart remodels, with occasional ground-up retail construction projects.

Responsibilities
Lead on-site construction operations from project start through completion
Manage day-to-day field activities including subcontractor coordination and scheduling
Maintain and drive the project schedule to ensure timely completion
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
Coordinate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to keep projects on track
Oversee quality control and ensure work meets project specifications
Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and schedule milestones
Maintain strong relationships with clients and field partners
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
Experience with retail construction projects strongly preferred
Experience with remodel/renovation projects in occupied environments
Ability and willingness to travel nationwide for projects
Strong understanding of scheduling and the ability to drive project timelines
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Stable work history with reputable contractors
Project Types Projects will primarily consist of Walmart remodels, with some ground-up retail construction projects. These projects are typically fast-paced and require strong coordination to minimize disruption to active retail operations.
Travel
Superintendents are expected to travel to project locations and remain on-site for the duration of each project
