Job Summary We’re looking for entry-level Freight Brokers to join our growing logistics team in Birmingham, AL. Some remote opportunities may be available for the right candidates. This is an ideal role for recent college graduates or individuals looking to start a new career in logistics, sales, or supply chain operations. No prior industry experience is required—we provide training and support to help you succeed.
As a Freight Broker, you’ll play a key role in connecting customers with reliable shipping solutions. You'll build relationships, learn the ins and outs of the freight industry, and develop valuable skills in communication, negotiation, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Account Development:
Proactively call prospective clients to set up new freight accounts and onboard them into the system.
Client Relationship Management:
Communicate regularly with shipping managers to understand their needs, build trust, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
Customer Retention:
Maintain and grow existing customer relationships through consistent communication, exceptional service, and quick issue resolution.
Provide timely and competitive freight quotes to customers, ensuring accuracy and profitability.
Problem Solving & Coordination:
Monitor freight shipments and coordinate with carriers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries. Resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Documentation & CRM:
Maintain detailed records of client interactions, shipment information, and account activity in the CRM and internal systems.
Skills & Qualifications
Excellent communication skills (phone and email)
Strong people skills and a team-first mindset
Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and good organizational habits
Basic computer skills (CRM or logistics software is a plus but not required)
Prior experience in customer service or sales is helpful, but not required
