Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Contract Specialist (Procurement Advisor) to support procurement operations at an industrial refinery facility. This role serves as a key partner to internal stakeholders, driving sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring contract compliance. Site & Compliance Requirements
Must be local to Sweeny, TX — per diem is not applicable
Standard PPE required: steel-toed boots/shoes with FRC
DISA background check and drug screen required
Site-specific safety/HASC training required prior to assignment start
Key Responsibilities
Partner with site stakeholders to support day-to-day procurement activities, including services sourcing and supplier management
Lead and support sourcing events, including bid development, evaluation, and supplier selection
Manage assigned contracts, including negotiating terms, renewals, and amendments
Serve as a liaison between site stakeholders and central procurement teams to ensure alignment and efficiency
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and governance standards
Identify opportunities to drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, and mitigate risk
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
3+ years of procurement, sourcing, contracting, or supply chain experience
Experience supporting contract negotiations and supplier management activities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience with procurement systems such as SAP, Ariba, GEP, or similar platforms
Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to operate independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Strong influence and relationship-building skills
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting procurement within a refinery, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environment
Familiarity with services-based procurement and contractor/vendor management
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive results
