Position Overview
We are seeking a
highly motivated Contract Specialist (Procurement Advisor)
to support procurement operations at a refinery site in
Sweeny, TX . This role will partner closely with internal stakeholders to drive sourcing initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and ensure contract compliance.
This position is ideal for a
procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and enjoys working cross-functionally to deliver strategic value.
Candidates must be
local to the Sweeny, TX area .
Key Responsibilities
Partner with site stakeholders to support
day-to-day procurement activities , including services sourcing and supplier management
Lead and support
sourcing events , including bid development, evaluation, and supplier selection
Manage assigned
contracts , including negotiating terms, renewals, and amendments
Act as a
liaison between site stakeholders and centralized procurement teams
to ensure alignment and efficiency
Ensure compliance with
procurement policies, procedures, and governance standards
Identify opportunities to
drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, and mitigate risk
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
preferred
3+ years of experience
in procurement, sourcing, contracting, or supply chain
Experience supporting
contract negotiations and supplier management
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience with procurement systems such as
SAP, Ariba, GEP, or similar platforms
Strong
communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work
independently while managing multiple priorities
in a dynamic environment
Strong
influencing and relationship-building skills
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting procurement within a
refinery, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environment
Familiarity with
services-based procurement and contractor/vendor management
Demonstrated ability to
influence stakeholders and drive results
Additional Requirements
Must be able to work
Monday–Friday during standard business hours
Must comply with
site safety requirements and PPE standards
Must be able to pass required
background and drug screening
Site‑specific safety training may be required prior to starting
