Responsibilities

The Safety Sales Specialist is responsible for the management and profitable growth of Airgas business within the Las Vegas and San Diego markets.

Meet and exceed corporate and regional objectives for sales growth, profitability, and A/R management within the assigned territory.

Sell all Airgas products to the customer base.

Adhere to and assure compliance with the Code of Conduct/Handbook, policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards promulgated by Federal, State and other agencies.

Develop and execute regional company‑specific sales and marketing plans.

Actively pursue and acquire new and competitive accounts with emphasis on profit margin.

Review regional sales goals and gross profit margins within the assigned territory and monitor effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts.

Establish and maintain clear and consistent lines of communication with internal departments relative to customer successes, failures, new developments and other customer‑specific information.

Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers (Las Vegas Market including St. George; San Diego Market including Yuma, AZ).

Identify and qualify prospective customers within the assigned area and keep direct manager informed.

Interpret customer needs and make appropriate recommendations to increase sales opportunities.

Research and analyze market data to determine new customers, sales volume potential and pricing, and develop a strategy to meet sales targets.

Act as a resource for other sales representatives by assisting them with customer sales calls and providing product and industry training.

Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required

Regularly required to sit for long periods and stand to perform work; reach with hands and arms; lift, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.

Specific vision required: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

Noise level moderate to noisy; may be exposed to extreme weather.

Reasonable accommodations made for disabilities; hearing protection, safety shoes, safety glasses, and other PPE required in designated areas.

Management reserves right to modify work assignments; reasonable accommodations provided to enable qualified associates to perform essential functions.

Qualifications

High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum 3‑5 years of related sales experience.

Knowledge of safety products and services desired.

Proven change‑management skills, including building sponsorship, communications, and stakeholder management.

Requires valid driver's license and personal vehicle with insurance coverage.

QSSP, OSHA 30 certified is a plus.
