Position Overview We are seeking a
Director of Pharmacy
to lead pharmacy operations, drive performance, and support continued organizational growth across a multi-state environment. This leader will bring a strong blend of
operational excellence, clinical oversight, people leadership, and data-driven decision-making . The ideal candidate understands how to evaluate and improve pharmacy performance through
KPIs, process optimization, workflow improvement, and cross-functional leadership . This person will be responsible for helping scale operations, improve consistency, and elevate the overall effectiveness of the pharmacy function while ensuring compliance and high-quality patient care. A key priority for this role is identifying a leader who is
licensed in multiple states
and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth setting with complex regulatory and operational demands.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day pharmacy operations across a multi-state environment
Establish, monitor, and improve key pharmacy
KPIs , including productivity, turnaround times, quality, service levels, compliance, and team performance
Drive
operational improvement initiatives
that enhance workflow efficiency, scalability, accuracy, and patient experience
Analyze performance data and trends to identify gaps, develop action plans, and implement measurable improvements
Partner with executive leadership to develop operational strategies that support growth, profitability, and service excellence
Build, lead, and develop pharmacy teams, including coaching leaders and creating accountability around performance expectations
Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies
Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, operations, compliance, credentialing, and leadership teams to improve execution and alignment
Support multi-state licensing strategy and operational readiness as the business expands
Create and maintain SOPs, workflows, and operational best practices across the pharmacy organization
Serve as a key leader in change management, helping teams adopt new processes, technologies, and performance standards
Qualifications
Licensed in multiple states
required; additional state licensure strongly preferred
7+ years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience, including operational leadership
Prior experience in a
Director of Pharmacy , Pharmacy Operations Leader, PIC, or similar leadership role
Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, compliance, staffing models, workflow design, and performance management
Demonstrated success using
KPIs, metrics, and reporting
to improve operational performance
Proven ability to lead
process improvement
and drive measurable results
Experience leading teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Strong business acumen with the ability to balance patient care, compliance, and operational efficiency
Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional partnership skills
Preferred Background
Experience in a
multi-state
pharmacy environment
Experience with high-growth pharmacy organizations
Familiarity with operational dashboards, reporting tools, and pharmacy performance analytics
Track record of improving turnaround time, team productivity, patient outcomes, or service delivery through operational enhancements
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building structure in scaling organizations
