Level 2 / Level 3 Installer (Data Center / Networking)
Location:
Edison (Must be within commuting distance of Northern NJ)
Pay Rate:
$27-$30/hour
Contract Length:
6-12 months
Overview We are seeking experienced Level 2 / Level 3 Installers to support installation work within a data networking environment. This role requires hands‑on experience with power systems, copper, and fiber cabling, along with the ability to follow detailed job specifications and installation standards. The Installer will perform intermediate to advanced installation activities and report to a Level 4 Installation Technician or above. A strong understanding of installation and quality standards is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Perform installation work with minimal supervision
Rack and stack network and telecommunications equipment
Run, secure, and terminate copper, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling
Perform basic power work, including mounting fuse panels and terminating power feeders
Conduct power verification and cable testing (Cat5/6, continuity, fiber loss testing)
Read and interpret job specifications, floor plans, and wiring diagrams
Execute complex wiring and cabling tasks
Perform cable verification and cable mining during decommissioning
Interface with Project Managers, Supervisors, and Engineering teams to resolve issues
Ensure all work meets customer installation and quality standards
Level-Based Responsibilities Level 1 & 2 Experience Required
Assemble, mount, and align central office/data center hardware
Prepare and terminate cabling across multiple systems
Label telecom equipment, panels, and connections
Perform basic and intermediate installation testing
Support documentation review and job method procedures
Required Qualifications
Intermediate experience in data networking or telecom installation environments
Hands‑on experience with power, copper, and fiber cabling
Experience with rack & stack installations
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and drawings
Basic knowledge of power verification and cable testing tools
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specifications
Additional Notes
Must be local to Northern New Jersey (no relocation or travel candidates)
Candidates should be comfortable working in data center or central office environments
