College/Unit/Department This position will be an integral part of the team within the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR) in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) and reports to the Senior Director of Development. CAES has an alumni network of 20,000+ and consistently raises over $12 million annually.

Work Schedule: 8am – 5pm Monday – Friday; will also include evenings and weekends as assigned by supervisor for events or projects.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 5 years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications This position is integral within ODAR in CAES reporting to the Senior Director of Development. The Director will provide strategic direction for all aspects of the alumni engagement program, advancing communication, volunteerism, and philanthropy among alumni and friends.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated organizational and time management ability, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management software.

Frequent travel inside and outside the state.
Experience in alumni relations and/or fundraising in higher education or non‑profit environments.

Duties/Responsibilities Alumni Engagement
Develop and execute a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy to foster increased participation by alumni and stakeholders.
Develop and enhance communications using social media, e‑newsletters, content editing for publications, and the latest technology and marketing strategies.
Collaborate with CAES departments and the Office of Academic and Faculty Affairs to provide alumni opportunities with the College and its students.
Collaborate with internal CAES partners and broader University partners to identify and integrate resources to accomplish strategic goals.
Update alumni information in database, track class notes, develop queries and exports, and work closely with development to identify prospects.
Track and report on alumni engagement metrics.
Coordinate alumni engagement events, possibly on evenings and weekends, and represent the College at conferences and events.
Develop and implement an annual and long‑term strategic plan for regional events and programs to build connection and belonging.
Board Association Leadership
Serve as the Executive Director of the CAES Alumni Association.
Lead key board functions: recruitment, budgeting, management, strategic planning, and implementation.
Work with the Board of Directors to plan the annual meeting and other virtual and committee meetings.
Develop and manage the budget and administer disbursement of funds from the Eterna Fund.
Coordinate the CAES Alumni Association Awards, collaborating with the Signature Events Coordinator.
Collaboration/Other Duties
Actively contribute to the ODAR team’s fundraising success by identifying alumni for philanthropy conversations and engagement as volunteers.
Partner with annual giving and major gifts teams to increase support.
Work collaboratively with a wide variety of constituents, including alumni, parents/guardians, students, faculty, and staff.
Manage a travel and operations budget and plan trips strategically.
Coordinate with CAES leadership and Central Development staff regarding alumni engagement strategies and promotion of University‑wide programs.
Attend ODAR team meetings, University Development and Alumni Relations meetings, and selected trainings.
Perform additional duties as assigned for events, including football Saturdays and other special events, often at nights and weekends.
