Position Summary The Mechanical Estimator is responsible for preparing cost estimates for commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects. This role analyzes drawings and specifications, performs quantity takeoffs, solicits vendor pricing, and develops competitive bid proposals while supporting preconstruction planning activities. Key Responsibilities Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project requirements. Perform accurate

quantity takeoffs

and input data into estimating systems. Develop cost estimates for mechanical construction labor, materials, and equipment. Evaluate project documents to identify inconsistencies, risks, or scope conflicts. Identify

value engineering opportunities

and analyze job conditions impacting project cost. Request and evaluate vendor and supplier pricing for materials and equipment. Prepare complete bid proposals including scope clarifications and supporting documentation. Compare estimates and reconcile cost variances. Maintain organized project files including drawings, specifications, and estimate documentation. Assist with preconstruction planning and support project teams during bid preparation. xsgimln Qualifications 3+ years of mechanical estimating experience

in commercial or industrial construction Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications Experience with

computerized estimating systems Understanding of labor productivity factors and cost analysis Proficiency with
