Order Entry Specialist

The Order Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately processing customer orders, maintaining detailed records, and supporting internal teams to ensure timely and efficient order fulfillment. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This is a contract to hire opportunity located near Schaumburg, IL. Key Responsibilities: Accurately entered customer orders into order management or ERP systems, ensuring pricing, quantities, and delivery details were correct. Reviewed purchase orders and customer documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company policies. Coordinated with sales, customer service, inventory, shipping, and accounting teams to resolve order discrepancies and ensure timely fulfillment. Maintained accurate records of orders, changes, cancellations, and returns in accordance with internal controls. Responded to customer inquiries regarding order status, product availability, and delivery timelines. Identified and escalated order issues or system errors to appropriate teams to minimize delays and customer impact. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred. Previous experience in order entry, customer service, or administrative support preferred. Proficiency with ERP/order management systems and Microsoft Office applications. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
