Cash Application Specialist

LHH is partnering with a reputable organization near Akron, Ohio to identify a Cash Application Specialist for an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity. Accurately apply daily customer payments including checks, ACH, wire transfers, lockbox, and credit cards Research and resolve unapplied, unidentified, or misapplied cash transactions Reconcile daily cash activity to bank deposits and internal reports Investigate short payments, overpayments, and payment discrepancies Partner closely with Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Collections teams Maintain accurate records to support clean AR aging and reporting Utilize Excel to track, reconcile, and analyze payment activity What We're Looking For
Previous experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or related accounting functions Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high-volume payment processing Proficiency in Excel for reconciliations and tracking Experience working with ERP or accounting systems Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams Strong problem-solving and analytical skills If you have cash application experience and are ready to take the next step in your accounting career, I'd love to connect with you.
