Commercial Relationship Manager

The Commercial Relationship Manager (CRM) will work closely with the business banking team and the various retail channels to drive production. The CRM is responsible for the generation and management of all commercial loans. The CRM will be responsible for originating new commercial loans in Virginia market and will focus on OOCRE, C&I and SBA Lending. The Commercial Relationship Manager will also be responsible for the generation, pre-screening and management for new commercial loans, with objectives related to loan production, portfolio growth, fee income, profitability, credit quality, loan delinquencies, member service, and personnel development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Stay abreast & ensure compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with NWFCU and NCUA regulatory standards and policies

Collaborate with other divisions within the credit union

Effectively demonstrate the ability to make timely, prudent and in-depth credit evaluations that meet the minimum credit requirements as established in the loan policy manual

Responsible for all aspects of pipeline management, prescreening, cash flow and available collateral and due diligence review

Attend networking/chamber events, identify referral sources (COI's) within market: maintains pipeline for follow up calls and reporting

Structures, processes and reviews all loan renewals, extensions, risk rating recommendations

Development and implementation of an effective sales calling program targeting industries that fall within the CU risk profile and assigned market

Meet with existing and perspective members to continuously promote the Northwest brand while identifying cross‑selling opportunities and potential referrals to other departments

Target focus for origination is ideally split between OOCRE, C&I Lending and SBA

Work with the VP of Commercial & SBA Lending to discuss pricing recommendations and loan proposals

Review all Credit Memorandum's to include credit analysis and loan structure recommendations

Provide quality and timely member service through various communication methods

Performs other related duties as assigned

Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience

Minimum 5 years' experience in Commercial Lending

Formal credit training is preferred but not required, i.e. Omega Certification, RMA or equivalent

Ability to maintain effective relationships with internal partners, members, service providers and external Center of Influences (COI's)

Strong understanding of SBA guidelines, policies, procedures and eligibility criteria

Ability to generate loans, deposits and fee income with existing and prospective members

Ability to comply with all internal organizational policies and procedures

Knowledge of credit underwriting, cash & accrual accounting procedures, cash flow analytics and loan documentation required

Must possess strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to mediate customer service problems, or credit disputes when they arise

A book of business is preferred, but not required

Must be able to work the hours of M-F 8am-4:30pm (extended hours may be required to accomplish organizational priorities and goals)
