Weekday Church Childcare Director
Department: Children’s Ministry/Discipleship Reports to: Director of Children’s Ministry FLSA Status: Part time hourly, 10-12 hours, non-exempt Date: April 2026 Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and supervision for our weekday early childhood ministries. Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Ensure a safe, clean, loving environment for children. Recruit and train all childcare staff in accordance with childcare policies and procedures. Oversee and maintain equipment and supplies for classrooms. Oversee the development of age appropriate Biblical curriculum and lesson plans. Manage childcare budget. Monitor childcare registration and coordination of children by age groups. Supervise and train childcare workers and other supervisors. Work closely with discipleship leadership as needed for childcare needs. Serve as a contributing member of the Children’s Ministry Team and the full BPC staff. Required Skills and Abilities
A heart for children’s ministry and a willingness to serve the Lord. Ability to adapt to last minute changes. Creative, able to think outside the box with a desire to keep the ministry fresh and exciting. Able to work in a team environment with a willingness to step in where needed. Computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google and the ability to learn new software as needed. Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
High School Diploma Previous experience in a childcare setting Previous supervisory experience preferred Satisfactory background check required for all positions Physical Requirements
Able to communicate, both orally and in writing, in English. Able to stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time. Able to lift up to 25 pounds and engage in physical activities with children as needed to support ministry programs. Capacity to bend, kneel, and squat frequently to engage with children at their level.
