Basic Function:
Provides high-level administrative support to the Superintendent to ensure accuracy of data and communications necessary to support the management and administration of the District.
Representative Duties
Organizes the work flow for the Superintendent’s office
Conducts research on issues and concerns directed to the Superintendent’s office and prepares correspondence in response
Communicates with administrative staff on behalf of the Superintendent to ensure projects/programs are progressing and monitors to ensure that data/reports are submitted based on established deadlines
Maintains communication with the Superintendent regarding issues and concerns affecting the District
Analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of solutions, conclusions, or approaches to issues to ensure that the Superintendent is informed and has adequate information to respond to critical issues affecting the District
Analyzes issues to determine the implication of information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
Supervises and evaluates assigned employees for the Superintendent’s office
Drafts correspondence on behalf of the Superintendent and Board members
Completes all trainings and other compliance requirements as assigned and by the designated deadline
Manages the Human Resources Department for the district
Manages Title programs for the District
Oversees curriculum and instruction for the District
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of the following
Curriculum, instruction and assessment
Record-keeping techniques
Operation of a computer terminal and data entry techniques
Oral and written communication skills
Research methods and report writing techniques
Laws, rules, and regulations related to assigned activities
Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
Abilities
To perform the responsibilities as previously outlined
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Maintain records and prepare reports
Operate a computer terminal and navigate technology
Prioritize and schedule work
Learn, apply and explain policies, procedures, rules and regulations
Maintain current knowledge of program rules, regulations, requirements and restrictions
Determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines
Work independently with little direction
Meet schedules and timelines

The work is performed while standing or walking. It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. Education and Experience
Three (3) years of successful teaching experience with demonstrated evidence of and potential for success in administrative/supervisory responsibilities
Demonstrates leadership qualities and skills
Licenses and Other Requirements
Master's Degree with Kentucky Certification in Administration and Supervision (Superintendent)
Has met the requirements for criminal records check and child abuse and neglect check as specified by Kentucky State Law
