A premier 671-room convention resort in San Diego is seeking a motivated and strategic National Sales Manager to drive high-value group business across regional and national markets. The ideal candidate brings both a polished presence and a competitive drive, with the ability to turn opportunities into long-term wins. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and execute a local-to-national sales strategy that leverages Southern California relationships into multi-year, multi-market group business. Manage the full sales cycle including prospecting, pitching, contracting, and rebooking, ensuring seamless communication throughout. Drive group pace and revenue performance through proactive selling, strong negotiation skills, and effective use of market data. Analyze STR reports and competitive insights to position the resort strategically within the market. Partner cross-functionally with marketing, revenue management, and operations to ensure exceptional planner and guest experiences. Represent the resort at industry events, trade shows, client meetings, and site visits to generate new business opportunities. What Success Looks Like

Consistent achievement of group revenue targets with strong, future-focused pace. Repeat clients and long-term partnerships across key markets. High planner satisfaction and positive rebooking trends. Strategic wins that enhance competitive positioning within the market Qualifications

35 years of proven group sales experience in a full-service hotel or convention resort. Established book of business across key SoCal markets, including San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Strong knowledge of regional demand drivers, including corporate headquarters, associations, and third-party planners. Proficiency in Delphi.fdc, Salesforce, Amadeus, Cvent, and related hospitality sales systems. Strong negotiation, communication, and data-driven selling skills, including comfort with STR reporting.
