Job Description Summary
Technical Trainer (Payroll Ops)
is responsible for delivering payroll training programs and supporting learning resources focused on payroll systems, service bureau operations, and payroll concepts for internal teams and clients. The role builds upon foundational training skills and demonstrates increasing independence in facilitation, content support, and consultative engagement.
Responsibilities
Deliver standard payroll training sessions independently for internal teams and clients using approved materials and curricula.
Update, maintain, and contribute to training content, including reference materials, presentations, and learning aids.
Tailor training delivery to audience needs within established frameworks and guidelines.
Participate in training analysis, evaluation, and follow‑up activities to assess effectiveness and support business outcomes.
Provide consultative guidance related to payroll systems, processes, and ancillary products within the defined scope.
Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure training content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with operational needs.
Support onboarding, cross‑training, and knowledge‑sharing initiatives for peers and stakeholders.
Continue to build payroll, product, and training knowledge through ongoing learning and feedback.
Minimum Qualifications
2-4 years of Payroll Service Bureau experience required.
Experience delivering training, mentoring, or facilitating learning (formal or informal).
Demonstrated ability to apply payroll knowledge in training or knowledge transfer settings.
Ability to independently facilitate standard training sessions and manage classroom or virtual delivery environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting multiple phases of the training lifecycle (analysis, design, delivery, evaluation).
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
CPP certification.
Proficiency in a second language.
Able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience delivering results and measurable outcomes.

Independently deliver training using approved materials while adapting delivery to diverse audiences.
