About Our Client The client is a Top 100 AmLaw firm headquartered in the US with global presence recognized for their expertise and success in high-stakes cases. Job Description The Business Development Director will be based in the firm's Washington, DC office. Responsibilities include: Direct and oversee firmwide business development activities and lead planning and execution for practice groups and strategic initiatives, including identifying priority clients and sectors, pursuit strategies, and tracking performance Lead the annual business development budget process in collaboration with practice group leaders and the BD team Establish metrics, KPIs, and analytics to measure ROI and support client development, opportunity tracking, experience management, and data‑driven decision‑making Lead business development integration for lateral partners through targeted client planning, internal connections, and coordinated marketing and BD support Provide strategic guidance and hands‑on support for pitches, RFPs, and key client meetings Collaborate with practice group leaders and internal departments to ensure BD responsibilities and goals are defined, and team resources allocated appropriately Coach partners and senior lawyers and facilitate business development training for attorneys at all levels Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing business development team, fostering skills development and a collaborative, results‑oriented culture The Successful Applicant A successful candidate should have: 15+ years of experience in business development in legal and/or professional services industries Demonstrated expertise in business development and experience as an advisor to senior leadership Proven ability to create and implement strategic growth plans with metrics and measurable outcomes Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage with stakeholders effectively Strong analytical skills to evaluate market trends and identify new opportunities Must have strong leadership and team management experience What's on Offer $275,000 - $300,000 base salary (commensurate with experience) + discretionary bonus Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision coverage PTO + 11 Paid Holidays 401k + Profit Sharing Plan Hybrid work schedule #J-18808-Ljbffr
