Compensation

Pay Range: $18.00–$20.00 (based on experience) plus mileage reimbursement. Role Overview

The Mobile Phlebotomist, under the general supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, provides clinical pre-analytical laboratory services to clients/patients in a mobile setting. They are responsible for completing assigned routes safely and timely while following all policies and procedures. Tasks & Responsibilities

Drive vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed by dispatcher. Unload phlebotomy tray and collect samples at patients’ bedside as ordered by physician. Accurately identify patients before collecting specimens. Collect, label, process, and deliver specimens obtained from patients. Reload equipment and all necessary specimens to vehicle for prompt delivery. Communicate regularly with dispatcher to report status and location. Strictly adhere to Universal Precautions for blood-borne pathogens and infectious disease exposure. Maintain required certifications, health, and operational requirements. Keep work area clean and follow all safety precautions at all times. Report any unsafe conditions, complaints, and problems encountered. Monitor supplies inventory and report low stock or out-of-stock situations; identify and segregate expired supplies. Arrive to work promptly, properly groomed, with identification when visiting a facility. Maintain accurate time records of hours worked and deliver to company as directed. Manage assigned shift to include meal breaks. Create all required records per instructions; make changes only per approved instructions. Be available for on‑call evenings, weekends, and irregular unscheduled overtime as needed. Required Skills

Excellent communication and interaction skills with pediatric and geriatric populations. Treat customers and patients with respect, dignity, and discretion; acknowledge residents’ rights and patients’ right to refuse. Demonstrate regular attendance. Current, valid State phlebotomy license (if required). Current, valid State driver’s license; adequate car insurance; good driving record; possession of a vehicle in good condition suitable for daily driving. Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture using both vacutainer and syringe techniques. Knowledge of laboratory operations. Maintain sterile, sanitary conditions to prevent contamination. Physical Demands

The duties of this job require frequent walking, standing, handling, talking and hearing. Occasional sitting, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling is required. The employee may lift or move up to 35 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment

The role involves working in all weather and driving conditions. The laboratory environment presents potential health hazards. Employees must safely operate in accordance with applicable health and safety policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment. Work may be done in a medical laboratory setting and in client sites such as nursing homes and other facilities.
