Position Summary: This is a skilled position requiring the employee to perform a wide variety of credit, collection, and customer service tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Processing and soliciting credit applications dealing with investigation and inquiries. Maintaining credit files, making collection calls, and filing liens. Performing customer service both over the phone and in person. Performing credit adjustments incorporating all appropriate paperwork. Assisting the credit department with other duties as assigned per supervisor. Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 2-3 years experience in business collections preferred. Experience in a related field is a plus. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions. To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move from 10 to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat.
