Credit Collections Specialist

Position Summary This is a skilled position requiring the employee to perform a wide variety of credit, collection and customer service tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Processing and soliciting credit applications dealing with investigation and inquiries.

Will maintain credit files, make collection calls and file liens.

Will perform customer service both over the phone and in person.

Will perform credit adjustments incorporating all appropriate paperwork.

Assist the credit department with other duties as assigned per supervisor.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

2-3 years experience in business collections preferred.

Experience in a related field is a plus.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
