Credit Collections Specialist

Position Summary This is a skilled position requiring the employee to perform a wide variety of credit, collection, and customer service tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Processing and soliciting credit applications dealing with investigation and inquiries. Maintaining credit files, making collection calls, and filing liens. Performing customer service both over the phone and in person. Performing credit adjustments incorporating all appropriate paperwork. Assisting the credit department with other duties as assigned per supervisor. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 2-3 years experience in business collections preferred. Experience in a related field is a plus. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software.
