Position Summary
Mortgage Loan Originator – responsible for soliciting and originating residential mortgage loans, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding customers through the loan process from initial interest to closing. Responsibilities
Solicit and bring in mortgage business through relationships with real estate agents, builders, developers, and branch partners. Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines in the performance of loan originator duties. Interview potential applicants to assess needs, desires, financial status, and credit information. Assist customers with loan type information, interest rate options, and lock rates; prepare and send initial disclosures and submit information to automated underwriting software. Ensure timely re‑disclosures as required. Order appraisals, arrange title searches, and obtain necessary documents. Communicate with the customer throughout the process and collaborate with processors through closing. Originate residential home loans. Qualifications
A college degree and 4+ years of mortgage lending origination experience preferred; a combination of education and experience may meet requirements. Advanced knowledge of mortgage lending, processing, credit analysis, mortgage laws and regulations. Proven ability to solicit loans and work independently. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a high‑pressure environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with various computer software, including mortgage‑specific applications. Ability to work effectively in a team while maintaining independent judgment. Benefits
