As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of materials and services for our construction projects. Responsibilities: Develop and implement effective procurement strategies specifically tailored to residential construction projects, ensuring the timely availability of materials and services while achieving cost savings and maintaining quality standards. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish favorable terms and conditions specifically suited for residential construction needs. Conduct market research and analysis specific to the residential construction industry to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new products. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to determine material and service requirements for residential projects, and ensure timely procurement and delivery to meet construction schedules. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers specialized in residential construction, resolving any issues or disputes that may arise, and continuously monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to project requirements. Oversee the purchasing team assigned to residential projects, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations specific to residential construction procurement. Analyze purchasing data and generate reports to track expenses, monitor budget adherence, and identify opportunities for improvement within the residential construction context. Qualifications: Proven work experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role, preferably in the residential construction industry. In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and vendor evaluation specific to residential construction. Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favorable terms and conditions specifically tailored to residential construction projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders within the residential construction context. Proficiency in using procurement software and tools specific to the residential construction industry. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail within the residential construction context. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced residential construction environment.
