Overview
Coffman Engineers is a multi-discipline engineering firm providing prime and subconsultant services across commercial, retail, institutional, government, and industrial projects, including project/construction management. Since 1979, we have grown to serve clients from more than 24 locations in the United States and overseas. The Marketing Specialist will focus on development of prime and subconsultant proposal material, proposal production and data management, and representing the department internally and externally.
Responsibilities
Support and lead qualifications-based proposal planning, including pursuit strategy development and coordination with marketing leadership and project managers.
Assist in writing and producing qualifications-based proposals describing technically complex concepts in a way non-technical readers can understand; formats may include InDesign templates, SF330, or architect’s RFQ responses.
Develop proposal schedules and draft outlines; coordinate and prepare resumes, project descriptions, and experience write-ups with project managers and technical staff.
Plan, schedule, and facilitate go
o-go discussions with stakeholders.
Review notices of requests for proposals and qualifications; secure and review solicitation documents, determine internal distribution, and manage opportunity circulation.
Enter data into the CRM and company information databases, maintaining data integrity and consistency.
Maintain relationships with marketing/BD counterparts within Coffman and contribute to internal training on proposal best practices.
Coordinate client management activities and actively maintain client information; join and engage with relevant AEC industry organizations (e.g., SMPS).
Qualifications / Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
3 to 7 years of professional AEC marketing experience preferred (minimum of 3 years transferable).
Degree in a related field preferred.
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Acrobat; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Working knowledge of A/E/C industry terminology, procedures, and basic marketing principles, including RFPs and RFQs.
Ability to interpret scopes of work, project requirements, and evaluation criteria to support compliant, competitive proposal development.
Self-starter with the ability to see the big picture, take ownership of pursuits, follow through, and contribute to firm-wide BD goals.
Strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical skills with ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication; ability to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and partners.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel; experience with CRM systems and proposal resource files preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with professionalism, accuracy, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
Positive contribution to office and department goals, culture, and morale; ability to work well under pressure.
