Job Responsibilities

Effectively schedule ocean and/or air bookings for hazardous and non‑hazardous materials, as well as complex cargo shipments.

Ensure the complete and timely delivery of freight by gathering client requirements and completing paperwork that meets stringent transportation and customs regulations.

Process data through the Company’s system and obtain consular and government agency releases as appropriate.

Identify transactions and tasks that require special handling, recommend process improvements, and implement resolutions within assigned scope of responsibility.

Request and negotiate freight quotations, verifying details such as container capacities, packing dimensions, weights, coding, and other freight parameters.

Conduct basic mathematical analyses, interpret numerical data, identify patterns, and draw conclusions to support decision‑making.

Compose complex letters and business correspondence, ensuring accuracy and organizational structure of documents.

Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of freight forwarding services: order management, movement scheduling, customs brokerage, monitoring, cost optimization, and related services.

Qualifications

Freight forwarding experience preferred.

Prior use of CargoWise ONE a definite plus.

Three years of experience in a client‑facing role.

Computer skills including frequent use of MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Excellent math skills and ability to calculate freight measurements, weight, and perform unit conversions.

Familiarity with domestic and international geography, including major cities and countries.

Extreme attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential issues proactively.

High productivity under pressure.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Functional Knowledge

Knowledge of freight logistics and customs regulations.

Knowledge of additional languages a plus.

Computer Literacy

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with logistics software and systems preferred.

Expected Base Pay:

$20.00 - $27.00 per hour (actual compensation varies with experience, location, skills, and business considerations).
