
Interim Director of FP&A, E-Commerce

We are seeking a seasoned, hands-on Interim Director of FP&A to lead our clients E-commerce financial planning and analysis functions. As a key partner to the E-commerce leadership team, the Interim Director will own the P&L for our online channels, drive accurate forecasting, and provide actionable insights on SKU-level profitability, marketing efficiency (CAC/LTV), and inventory management.
This role is ideal for a proactive finance leader who can immediately bring rigor to our forecasting processes, streamline reporting, and drive strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, high-growth CPG environment.
Key Responsibilities
- E-commerce P&L Ownership: Take full ownership of the digital business P&L, providing monthly management reporting on KPIs, variances, and actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly/quarterly re-forecasts for e-commerce revenue, cost of goods sold (COGS), and operating expenses.
- KPI Development & Analysis: Define and track key e-commerce metrics, including contribution margin per order, channel-level profitability (Amazon, Direct-to-Consumer, Third-Party), and marketing effectiveness.
- SKU/Unit Economics: Perform deep-dive analysis on SKU-level profitability, margin dilution, and return logistics to optimize promotional strategies.
- Inventory & Working Capital: Collaborate with Supply Chain and Inventory teams on sales forecasting, inventory projections, and working capital optimization.
- Strategic Decision Support: Build sophisticated financial models to support strategic initiatives, such as pricing changes, new product launches, or market expansion.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of 1-3 financial analysts, managing their workflows and providing coaching.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 8-10+ years of progressive FP&A experience, with at least 3-5 years focused on E-commerce or Omni-channel CPG.
- Skills: Exceptional financial modeling skills, with proficiency in Excel, BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker), and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience partnering with marketing/e-commerce leaders and influencing executive-level decisions.
- Background: Strong understanding of DTC, Amazon marketplace dynamics, and retail digital marketing spend.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA is a plus.
