Senior Director, FP&A – E-Commerce (Apparel)

We’re partnering with a fast-growing eCommerce apparel business to hire a Senior Director of FP&A to lead financial strategy for a $30–$40M P&L. This role reports directly to the VP of Finance & Accounting and will own forecasting, performance analytics, and strategic decision support across the business.

This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role for someone who understands how financial performance connects to eCommerce operations, inventory flow, and digital revenue drivers.

Location: Secaucus, NJ (5 days onsite)

Compensation: $180K – $210K base + bonus

The role

You will serve as the financial leader for the eCommerce business, owning the P&L and partnering closely with merchandising, marketing, supply chain, and leadership to drive profitable growth.

This role is suited for someone who has operated in a product‑driven, inventory‑heavy eCommerce environment and can translate data into actionable business decisions.

Key responsibilities

P&L leadership and revenue forecasting

• Own a $30–$40M eCommerce P&L
• Lead annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long‑range planning
• Build and refine revenue forecasts using key drivers such as traffic, conversion, AOV, and promotions
• Manage margins, returns, discounts, and overall sales quality

E‑commerce and digital performance

• Partner with marketing and eCommerce teams to evaluate ROI across paid search, paid social, affiliate, and performance channels
• Provide insights on customer acquisition, retention, and channel efficiency
• Support pricing and promotional strategies through financial modeling

Inventory, distribution, and controls

• Partner with Planning and Supply Chain on inventory forecasting and controls
• Analyze SKU‑level performance, sell‑through, and inventory productivity
• Align financial forecasts with inbound and outbound distribution activity

Cost optimization and operational efficiency

• Identify and drive cost optimization opportunities across the P&L
• Analyze operating expenses, fulfillment costs, and organizational spend
• Support headcount planning and resource allocation with leadership

Financial modeling and decision support

• Build financial models to support strategic initiatives and investments
• Deliver scenario analysis on growth strategies, marketing spend, and inventory decisions
• Maintain visibility into risks and opportunities to guide leadership decisions

Reporting and executive communication

• Lead monthly and quarterly reporting, including variance analysis and KPI tracking
• Prepare and deliver management presentations

Process improvement and systems

• Improve forecasting accuracy and reporting efficiency
• Drive automation and scalability across FP&A processes
• Act as a finance lead for systems and data structure, including SAP

What we’re looking for

• 10+ years of FP&A, strategic finance, or corporate finance experience
• Deep eCommerce or direct‑to‑consumer experience, ideally within apparel or consumer products
• Proven ownership of a P&L, including revenue forecasting, margin management, and cost control
• Strong experience with inventory‑driven business models and sales distribution
• Expertise in SKU‑level analysis, sell‑through, and assortment performance
• Experience analyzing and optimizing digital marketing spend and ROI
• Strong understanding of inventory controls and working capital
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
• Ability to operate as a business partner across finance and operations
