Lead Commercial HVAC Installer - Commercial HVAC Servicing Company - Base Salary to 55.00/hour - Chicago, IL
Our client is a mechanical service company serving the Greater Chicagoland area. They provide preventative maintenance, commercial HVAC equipment repair and installation. They are seeking a Lead Commercial HVAC Installer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, enjoy mentoring junior techs, and is looking for a company to grow with.
Responsibilities
- Understanding of mechanical and HVAC systems
- Able to diagnose/repair/replace components on equipment greater than 20 tons
- Diagnose, assess, and troubleshoot various types of HVAC equipment, including but not limited to chillers, boilers, air handlers, large (over 20 ton) rooftop units, split systems, water-source heat pumps, pumps, and miscellaneous plant equipment
- Performs disassembly and reassembly of large or small commercial HVAC equipment to perform troubleshooting and planned maintenance as indicated in the service agreement
- Basic PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.)
- Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and blueprints
- General understanding of test and balance
- Working conditions include being on a roof or in a mechanical room for extended periods of time
- Working on ladders and carrying tools and sometimes heavy equipment
- Operating in a safe manner according to all OSHA regulations; wearing proper personal protective gear
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience as a commercial HVAC installer or related position
- HVAC certification or relevant trade school education preferred but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent
Compensation
- Base salary in the 35.00 – 55.00/hour range
