Lead Commercial HVAC Installer - Chicago, IL
Base salary: $35.00 – $55.00/hour.
Company Overview Our client is a mechanical service company serving the Greater Chicagoland area. It specializes in preventative maintenance, commercial HVAC equipment repair & installation.
Job Summary
Seeking a Lead Commercial HVAC Installer to join a growing team.
Candidate will be technically proficient, mentor junior techs, and be eager to grow with the company.
Responsibilities
Understand mechanical and HVAC systems.
Diagnose, repair, and replace components on equipment greater than 20 tons.
Diagnose, assess, troubleshoot various HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, air handlers, large rooftop units, split systems, water-source heat pumps, pumps, and miscellaneous plant equipment.
Perform disassembly and reassembly of large or small commercial HVAC equipment for troubleshooting and planned maintenance as indicated in the service agreement.
Have basic PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).
Read electrical wiring diagrams and blueprints.
Have general understanding of test and balance.
Work on roofs or in mechanical rooms for extended periods.
Work on ladders and carry tools and sometimes heavy equipment.
Operate safely in accordance with OSHA regulations and wear proper personal protective gear.
Qualifications
5+ years’ experience as a commercial HVAC installer or related position.
HVAC certification or relevant trade school education preferred but not required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary $35.00 – $55.00/hour.
