The
Wastewater Sales Engineer
is responsible for driving specification-based sales growth by working directly with civil engineers, municipalities, and design firms. This role focuses on influencing project specifications early in the design phase through technical engagement, education, and product advocacy. The position leads Lunch & Learn presentations, supports engineering firms with design assistance, and ensures wastewater and precast solutions are incorporated into project plans. This role serves as a key liaison between engineering, sales, and operations to move projects from concept through production and delivery across multiple plants. Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with civil engineering firms, municipalities, and DOT contacts Conduct Lunch & Learns, technical presentations, and training sessions Influence and secure product specifications in project plans Provide technical guidance on product selection, layout, and system design Track projects from early design through bidding and award Partner with regional sales teams to convert specifications into awarded work Support quoting strategies and project positioning Collaborate with internal engineering, production, and logistics teams Coordinate projects across multiple plants based on capacity and geography Represent the company at industry events and professional organizations Maintain CRM records, project tracking, and activity reporting Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments Meet or exceed territory-based sales and specification targets Qualifications
3+ years of experience in technical sales, civil engineering, or construction-related role Strong understanding of wastewater systems and construction plans/specifications Proven ability to build relationships with engineering firms and influence design decisions Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills Self-motivated and comfortable working independently across a large territory Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly (50–70%) Preferred Experience
Precast concrete or underground infrastructure experience Civil Engineering degree or equivalent technical background Experience working with DOTs, municipalities, or developers Existing relationships with engineering firms in the Midwest / Mid-Atlantic Base salary plus performance-based incentive plan Company vehicle or vehicle allowance Health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan with company match Paid time off and holidays Ongoing training and professional development Primarily field-based with regular travel across the assigned territory.
