Job Summary This role focuses on
instructional design experience
with hands‑on, technical training and instructor‑led course design for the electric transmission and substation group. The assignment is hybrid, requiring 80% remote work and 20% on‑site attendance for milestone meetings and course pilot delivery at the Livermore site. Laptop will be provided by the company; any additional equipment needed must be supplied by the candidate. Personal cell phone will be used for calls or MS Teams with no cell phone expense reimbursement. With manager prior approval, mileage, lodging, and meals are allowed to be expensed for overnight travel if required per GSA.gov.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop instructor‑led and on‑the‑job training for apprenticeships in the electric transmission and substation group
Develop learning materials for technical content, including hands‑on practice activities, student guides, facilitator guides, scenarios, job aids, assessments, simulations, and other instructional media
Perform a detailed task analysis for each job function, business process, or system for which training will be developed
Define learning objectives, and course structure aligned to stakeholder needs and to meet the constraints of the learning environment
Work under the direction of the Senior Instructional Designer to apply company standards, guidelines, and templates
Participate in milestone meetings with subject matter experts, including task analysis, alpha, beta, train the trainer, and pilot
Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation
Available during office hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (PST) Monday - Friday
