You’ll operate as a strategic and hands‑on commercial leader, translating global vision into actionable go-to-market strategies while partnering cross-functionally across regions.
Director, Global Business Development (Maternity Cover)
Location: New York, NY
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: ~5 months (potential to extend)
Schedule: 3 days/week onsite (flexible, based on meetings)
Pay Rate: Up to $90/hour
What You’ll Do
Business Development & Strategy
- Lead and shape global commercial strategy to drive revenue growth and market share gains
- Translate global brand vision into clear omnichannel trade marketing plans
- Partner with cross-functional teams (product marketing, media, finance, supply, demand planning) to align on execution
- Support long‑term (3–5 year) strategic planning including distribution and portfolio expansion
- Drive expansion into new markets and channels
Category Management & Performance
- Track and analyze global performance (sell‑in, sell‑out, launches)
- Identify growth opportunities through category and market analysis
- Optimize assortment strategies, distribution, and promotional plans
- Influence trade plans and in‑store/online execution strategies
License & Stakeholder Management
- Manage license relationships, including reporting and monthly business reviews
- Act as a key liaison between global and regional teams
- Ensure teams have the tools, clarity, and direction to execute effectively
Additional Responsibilities
- Handle ad hoc strategic and operational requests
- Balance analytical rigor with creative thinking
- Oversee stock and distribution considerations
- Contribute to brand‑building initiatives as the portfolio evolves
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in global trade marketing, commercial strategy, or brand marketing
- Strong background in beauty, luxury, or fragrance (highly preferred)
- Deep understanding of omnichannel retail and the U.S. market
- Proven experience working across global teams and regions
- Strong commercial acumen with a data‑driven mindset
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
