Position Summary
Wright Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Activity Director to lead our resident‑centered activities program. This role is responsible for creating a meaningful and engaging environment that supports the physical, emotional, and social well‑being of our residents in both short‑term rehabilitation and long‑term care.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive activities program in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Plan and maintain a monthly activity calendar that includes group and individualized programming.
- Conduct resident assessments to identify interests, needs, and abilities, and adjust programming accordingly.
- Facilitate a variety of activities including social events, therapeutic programs, outings, and holiday celebrations.
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary teams to support individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of participation and care plan updates.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including survey readiness.
- Recruit, train, and supervise activity staff and volunteers.
- Manage department budget, supplies, and community partnerships.
- Foster a warm, inclusive, and engaging atmosphere for residents and families.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in activities programming in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting is required.
- Knowledge of CMS guidelines and state regulations related to activities in long‑term care.
- Activity Director Certification (ADC) or eligibility preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to engage residents with varying cognitive and physical abilities.
