Position Summary Wright Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Activity Director to lead our resident‑centered activities program. This role is responsible for creating a meaningful and engaging environment that supports the physical, emotional, and social well‑being of our residents in both short‑term rehabilitation and long‑term care.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive activities program in accordance with state and federal regulations
Plan and maintain a monthly activity calendar that includes group and individualized programming
Conduct resident assessments to identify interests, needs, and abilities, and adjust programming accordingly
Facilitate a variety of activities including social events, therapeutic programs, outings, and holiday celebrations
Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary teams to support individualized care plans
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of participation and care plan updates
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including survey readiness
Recruit, train, and supervise activity staff and volunteers
Manage department budget, supplies, and community partnerships
Foster a warm, inclusive, and engaging atmosphere for residents and families
Qualifications
Previous experience in activities programming in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting required
Knowledge of CMS guidelines and state regulations related to activities in long‑term care
Activity Director Certification (ADC) or eligibility preferred
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to engage residents with varying cognitive and physical abilities
