Job Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair work across multiple trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, equipment maintenance, installations, and general facility repairs to support college operations. Utilizes the Physical Plant computerized work order system to document maintenance activities by creating work orders, updating labor and material costs, tracking maintenance actions, and supporting planning, scheduling, and reporting functions. Assists the Maintenance Supervisor with coordinating and delegating maintenance assignments by helping prioritize requests, directing daily work activities of maintenance staff as assigned, and communicating progress, changes, and completion status. Maintains and monitors the Physical Plant's preventive maintenance program by scheduling routine maintenance activities, issuing preventive maintenance work orders, and ensuring the work order system is updated to reflect completed and ongoing activities. Utilizes the Plant Department's computerized database to inventory and track maintenance supplies in support of campus operations. Coordinates testing of college safety systems with outside vendors, including fire alarms, backflow valves, and sprinkler systems, etc. Assists the Maintenance Supervisor with maintaining the college's key inventory. Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent and formal training or trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment. High School Diploma and four (4) years of directly related experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials and supplies used in facility repairs and maintenance. Ability to comprehend blueprints, plans and specifications. Ability to use computer applications communicate orally and in writing. Ability to use judgement and initiative to complete routine work without constant supervision. Ability to supervise the work of others. Additional Comments
