
Collections Specialist

The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding customer balances while maintaining positive customer relationships. This role will monitor overdue accounts, communicate with customers regarding payment status, and work to resolve billing issues or discrepancies that may delay payment. The Collections Specialist will also collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate account information and support efficient accounts receivable processes.
Responsibilities:
Use your phone and email communication skills to reach out to delinquent customers, resolve outstanding balances, and guide them through the payment process.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing collection issues, processing payments, resolving discrepancies, and handling short payments.
Monitor and maintain assigned accounts, perform thorough reconciliations, and strive to reduce account delinquency.
Collaborate with Sales and Management as needed to develop effective collection solutions.
Maintain detailed records of all customer interactions within the ERP system and ensure adherence to company policies.
Meet departmental goals and actively participate in monthly AR meetings to update management on collection efforts.
Requirements: A minimum of a 2-year college degree or equivalent experience in collections or a related field. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance is a plus. 3-5 years of experience in high-volume corporate collections and accounts receivable. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy. A strong drive to achieve departmental goals and objectives. The ability to manage your time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using advanced Excel functions. A commitment to providing excellent customer service at all times. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
