Overview Cypresswood Golf Club is currently undergoing major renovations including a new clubhouse, a full-service bar and grill, a 344-person banquet space, lighted nine holes for night golf, a lighted driving range with a 2-acre natural grass putting course, and twenty TopTracer technology bays, all scheduled for completion in October 2026.

Job Description The Assistant Golf Professional is a key member of the golf shop team and is responsible for assisting the Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf oversee and providing direction in several aspects of operations, including customer service, tournament operations, golf shop merchandising, human resource management, and golf programming.

Customer Service

- Lead by example, always maintaining positive and productive relationships with Golf Shop, Food & Beverage, Guest Services, and volunteer staff to ensure guests receive best-in-class customer service.

Tournament & Golf Outing Operations

- Aid the Head Golf Professional, Director of Golf, and Tournament Director by working closely with group outing coordinators from the sales process through the event operation to ensure proper event organization and setup.

Golf Shop Merchandising

- Work closely with the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional to monitor shop neatness, inventory counts, ordering, receiving, and rotation of goods.

Human Resources

- Play an active role in hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising Golf Operations staff, including Guest Service and Starter/Marshal Team Members.

Golf Programming

- Help organize and promote the Player Development Program and other initiatives such as "Play Better Golf – The Foresight Golf Way" and administer the Junior Academy.

Experience Required Employment Standards

PGA Apprentice or PGA Member in good standing.

Minimum two to four years of experience in a service-oriented hospitality industry such as golf course management, hotel, resort, restaurant, retail, or sports management.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Effective negotiation skills.

Excellent presentation skills.

Essential Responsibilities Typical Functions

Positively interact with guests to ensure a first-class experience from arrival through the golfing experience.

Ensure the golf car fleet, clubhouse grounds, and main clubhouse facilities are clean and free of unsightly trash or clutter.

Maintain professional and pleasant telephone manners.

Handle customer inquiries and complaints according to club policies and procedures.

Work with the Head Golf Professional and staff to monitor the tee sheet for maximum utilization.

Keep golfers informed of course activities and encourage participation when necessary.

Develop dialogue with customers regarding playing habits and report on likes and dislikes.

Coordinate and communicate regularly with the Head Golf Professional, Food & Beverage Director, and Golf Course Superintendent on all pertinent matters.

Head Golf Professional

Benefits Health Insurance – Health insurance is available through Foresight Golf with a 90‑day waiting period before eligibility. The company pays a majority of the premium; other policies are available at employee expense.
