About the Role

The S&P Global Ratings Commercial Team is responsible for optimizing relationships and commercial outcomes with a broad set of clients in the U.S. We are a collaborative team who develop solutions that help our clients overcome their complex business challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary commercial point of contact for an assigned portfolio of public and private corporate clients, delivering consistent, high‑quality client service while building trusted advisor relationships.
- Drive revenue growth and retention by clearly articulating S&P Global Ratings' value proposition and positioning Ratings products to meet client needs through strategic account planning and market insight.
- Lead commercial negotiations for assigned accounts and partner with the Team Lead on more complex or sensitive engagements while demonstrating sound business judgment.
- Identify cross‑sell opportunities through active account coverage and understanding client needs, leveraging deep market knowledge and analytical perspective.
- Provide expert guidance and coaching to junior team members on complex client matters and relationship management strategies.
- Track and manage opportunities within a CRM, ensuring accurate pipeline data and timely follow‑up while maintaining high standards of operational excellence.
- All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
Compensation
(Only applicable to U.S. candidates) The anticipated base salary range for this position is $93,161 to $150,000. The final base salary will depend on geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
Basic Required Qualifications
- An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 5+ years of relevant experience in sales, relationship management, or client service within a financial services environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with autonomy and make decisions within defined parameters while requiring minimal direction.
- Working understanding of capital markets, corporate finance, and credit fundamentals.
- Proven track record of building relationships with senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes through analytical insights.
- Strong attention to detail and discipline around CRM usage, reporting, and internal processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with clients across different organizational levels.
- Bachelor's degree (Finance, Economics, or related field preferred).
- US Travel Required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience advising senior executives on complex financial matters, demonstrating expertise that enhances organizational knowledge.
- Exposure to credit ratings, fixed income, or issuer‑focused client coverage.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into actionable client strategies.
- Track record of mentoring colleagues and contributing to team development initiatives.
