Job Description The Hanover is seeking an

Associate Consultant

in Worcester or Boston, MA. This is a full‑time, exempt role eligible for a fully remote arrangement.

Position Overview Conducts technical evaluations and loss analysis of prospective or existing policyholders. Identifies and analyzes exposures and controls. Delivers consultative or technical support to policyholders, primarily in the small commercial or lower hazard middle market space.

In This Role, You Will:

Conduct field surveys on prospects and existing policyholders and write reports for underwriting.

Perform loss analysis.

Create and follow up on essential recommendations.

Develop effective relationships with underwriting and agency partners that drive continual collaboration.

Participate in underwriting pipeline, new business, and renewal meetings to provide RS perspective regarding exposure and controls.

Communicate ideas or positions persuasively to build support, agreement, and commitment.

Innovative ideas and implementation for quality and efficiency gains

What You Need to Apply

At least 1 year Risk Solutions/Loss Control field experience with a commercial lines national/regional insurance carrier or completion of The Hanover trainee program.

B.S. degree preferred in a related field such as health and safety, science, engineering or equivalent.

Motivated self‑starter with demonstrated initiative; ability to work independently with minimal direction.

Strong to exceptional communication skills, both verbal & written.

Strong to exceptional analytical & problem‑solving skills.

Demonstrated project management skills.

Ability to work in a dynamic environment on multiple projects, tasks or assignments.

Results focused.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Use personal computer and other standard office equipment.

Work in a fast‑paced environment.

Travel as necessary.

Sit and/or stand for extended periods.

Walk through customer buildings and facilities.

Climb ladders to various heights and maintain balance while performing work tasks.
