Senior Associate Vice Provost for Strategy, Engagement, and Analytics
Position Location: North Carolina, US
Position Summary Under the direction of the Senior Vice Provost for Student Success, the Senior Associate Vice Provost for Strategy, Engagement, and Analytics (AVP) serves as the chief strategy, external engagement, and analytics officer for student success initiatives across the university. The AVP provides strategic leadership to foster alignment and maximize efficiencies across administrative functions that support the entire student experience. This role oversees teams responsible for student-focused communications and engagement within the Office of Student Success, including enrollment and student affairs marketing and communications, fundraising and development, and data and analytics. The AVP will also work with student boards and alumni, establish new student and parent/family initiatives, and facilitate the division’s engagement with external partners.
The AVP directly supervises and provides strategic direction for the Director of New Student and Family Programs, Coordinator of Student and Family Support, Director of Enrollment Research and Analytics, Director of Student Affairs Special Projects and Communications, Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications, and provides shared oversight of senior development/major gift officers. The AVP will work across the institution to foster and maintain connections among functional areas, enhance data infrastructure, leverage modern marketing and communications, and identify ways to create personalized student engagement.
Serving as the primary divisional liaison to the Department of Athletics, the AVP will collaborate with athletics staff to ensure the student‑athlete experience fully reflects the University’s commitment to academic success. The AVP will also maintain a close working relationship with the Athletics Director and leadership team, engaging on issues that affect enrollment management, student success, and student affairs.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Relevant post‑Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent). Candidates with a comparable Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of relevant experience may be considered.

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations with diplomacy and sound judgment.
Ability and commitment to promote a collaborative work environment and build professional relationships with staff and campus colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Doctoral or other terminal degree in a relevant field is preferred.
Experience managing large, complex organizations in a large, public research university.
Seasoned decision maker with excellent judgment and superior problem‑solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with an array of stakeholders throughout the university.
Demonstrated experience and success in evolving programs and units in response to changes in student and business needs.
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. The AVP will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
