Position Summary
The Assistant Vice President of Marketing Operations and Supply Chain is responsible for leading the end‑to‑end operations that supports card manufacturing, direct mail production, procurement, and inventory management for all cardmember physical materials. This role oversees a cross‑functional team responsible for supply continuity, vendor performance, production accuracy, and creative workflow management. The AVP directs a multi‑million‑dollar spend, manages a complex vendor network, and ensures all operational processes meet regulatory standards. Success in this role requires strong operational leadership, cross‑functional alignment, risk mitigation, and the ability to maintain uninterrupted production across a multi‑source supply chain.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Lead end‑to‑end operations for card manufacturing, direct mail production, procurement, and inventory management to ensure continuity, accuracy, and error‑free execution of all prospect and cardmember materials.
- Oversee supply and demand alignment for cards, paper, envelopes, and other inventory items to maintain uninterrupted production and supply continuity.
- Manage multi‑million‑dollar spend across Direct Mail and Supply Chain, including forecasting, accruals, invoice approvals, and spend tracking.
- Direct vendor management activities, including performance reviews, contract negotiations, SLA oversight, and issue escalation across a multi‑source supplier network.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements for card production, sensitive materials, and operational controls.
- Oversee production timelines, quality control, and vendor coordination to ensure all programs meet accuracy, delivery, and performance standards.
- Maintain and optimize postal discounts through USPS promotions and strategic mail delivery planning.
- Lead cross‑functional alignment with Compliance, Risk, Product, IT, and Marketing to ensure operational readiness for new initiatives and enterprise programs.
- Oversee the Traffic team responsible for routing, proofing, and managing creative and production workflows.
- Ensure all creative assets move through review, approval, and production processes on time and without errors.
- Manage multi‑source supply strategies to reduce operational risk and strengthen business continuity.
- Identify, assess, and resolve operational risks before they impact production, cardmember experience, or regulatory compliance.
- Partner with Product, Marketing, and Operations to forecast material needs for new product launches, reissues, and enterprise initiatives.
- Lead allocation management and prioritization during supply constraints, including vendor escalation and contingency planning.
- Provide executive‑level reporting on supply risk, vendor performance, operational stability, and budget performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation, SOPs, and process maps for all operational functions.
Position Requirements
- 7–10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Direct Mail, Procurement, or Operations (financial services preferred).
- Proven experience managing teams and large vendor ecosystems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complex budgets and forecasting models.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple high‑stakes priorities in a fast‑moving, highly regulated environment.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills across all levels of the organization.
- Experience with operational risk management and process optimization.
