Department Overview
The Sales and Business Development Department is responsible for driving growth by identifying opportunities, building relationships with business owners, and bringing on new clients. This department focuses on outreach, lead generation, and closing new business while ensuring that Internera continues to expand its client base with the right partners. The team works directly with small and medium-sized businesses to understand their needs and position Internera’s services as practical solutions that improve operations, marketing, and overall performance. In addition to acquiring new clients, the department supports long-term relationships by ensuring a strong fit between client expectations and service delivery.

Qualifications
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Business, Marketing, Communications, Sales, Entrepreneurship, or a related field
Strong communication skills with the ability to speak confidently with business owners
Interest in sales, business development, and client relationships
Comfortable with outreach, follow‑up, and having conversations with new people
Self‑motivated with a results‑driven mindset
Organized and able to manage multiple leads and tasks at once
Willingness to learn sales processes and improve through feedback
Professional, reliable, and able to represent Internera in a positive way
Preferred
Prior experience in sales, customer service, or leadership roles
Interest in small business, startups, or entrepreneurship
Comfortable using basic tools such as email, spreadsheets, and CRM systems
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge
Understanding of basic sales and business development concepts, including lead generation, outreach, and closing.
Familiarity with how small businesses operate and the challenges they face.
Awareness of customer relationship management and the importance of maintaining a strong pipeline.
Basic understanding of professional communication and how to represent a brand in conversations.

Position Summary & Job Duties
The Client Acquisition Specialist is responsible for generating new business by identifying potential clients, building relationships with business owners, and closing new accounts for Internera. This role focuses on outreach, follow‑up, and sales conversations while helping position Internera’s services as practical solutions for business growth. The position is designed for students or early professionals who want hands‑on experience in sales and business development, with clear opportunity for increased responsibility based on performance.
Identify and research potential client businesses
Conduct outreach through email, phone, and in‑person conversations
Build and maintain a pipeline of leads and opportunities
Schedule and participate in client meetings or discovery calls
Present Internera’s services in a clear and professional manner
Follow up consistently with leads to move them through the sales process
Track outreach, conversations, and results in an organized system
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure strong client fit and onboarding
Assist in refining sales strategies and improving outreach systems
Maintain professional communication and represent Internera effectively
Physical Demands
This role requires the ability to travel locally to meet with clients in person. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be comfortable conducting face‑to‑face meetings with business owners. The position also involves extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and using a computer or phone for communication and outreach.
