Job Title: Architectural Job Captain - Residential Homebuilder Location: Palm Beach Gardens, FL Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary: The Architectural Job Captain plays a key role in coordinating residential plan production, managing consultant teams, and ensuring the successful execution of construction documents. This position bridges architecture, construction, permitting, and internal departments to maintain quality, accuracy, and efficiency across all projects. Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee and coordinate external consultants, providing clear direction, priorities, and performance expectations * Assign and monitor consultant deliverables, ensuring milestones and deadlines are consistently met * Lead recurring coordination meetings to review progress, resolve issues, and maintain alignment * Ensure all construction document sets are produced by licensed professionals and meet applicable codes, regulations, and company standards * Review and mark up master plan sets for technical accuracy, constructability, and consistency with product specifications * Cross-check architectural drawings with supporting consultant documents (structural, MEP, truss, cabinetry, etc.) * Provide timely solutions to design and documentation issues to minimize construction errors in the field * Review revision drawings and verify consistency with approved master plans * Interpret design intent and communicate clearly across internal teams and external partners * Track multiple active projects daily, ensuring on-time delivery of all architectural outputs * Maintain organized digital files, plan sets, and architectural support documentation * Identify challenges related to design, permitting, or construction and recommend practical solutions * Serve as a resource for internal processes, documentation standards, and workflow coordination * Support permitting and construction teams with revisions, comments, and submittals * Participate in site visits, including model and prototype walkthroughs, to verify design execution * Collaborate cross-functionally with purchasing, sales, marketing, construction, and permitting teams * Review marketing and sales materials for plan accuracy and consistency * Ensure all work aligns with company policies, procedures, and quality standards

Required Qualifications & Skills:

* Strong foundation in residential architecture and production homebuilding practices * Clear understanding of how architectural decisions impact construction, sales, purchasing, and marketing functions * Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organization and attention to detail * Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate construction documents, engineering drawings, and specifications * Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with internal teams and external consultants * Proficiency or ability to quickly learn industry software and tools (e.g., project tracking systems, Microsoft Office Suite) * High level of professionalism, accountability, and adherence to company standards and processes * Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment * Willingness to travel occasionally to active communities and construction sites

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field * 5+ years of experience in residential architecture or homebuilding * Experience with AutoCAD; Revit is a plus * Familiarity with Florida building codes and permitting processes
