POSITION SUMMARY:

The Docketing Specialist maintains the docketing database/calendar for the Intellectual Property Group, and will report directly to the Intellectual Property Docketing Manager. This is a highly detail-oriented position, tracking important filing deadlines, confirming filings and generating reports detailing action items and due dates. This position will also be the primary back up to the Intellectual Docketing Manager for maintaining, tracking and paying of the firm's patent maintenance fees and annuities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviewing and processing of outgoing USPTO emails and electronic filings for accuracy and completeness; Reviewing and processing of all incoming USPTO mail received electronically daily and entering all necessary deadlines into database; Reviewing and processing of all incoming IP emails received daily and entering all necessary deadlines into database; Monitoring and updating information on all U.S./foreign case records/related docket entries in database; Assist with updating the docketing database with attorney responses; Maintaining current knowledge of IP rules and procedures, both domestic and foreign; and opening new records in the Foundation IP (FIP) docket management program; and Perform backup docketing duties when the Intellectual Property Docketing Manager is unavailable, which entails performing the critical (i.e., minimum required) docketing functions on those occasions. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Strong customer service skills; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; Foundation IP docketing software experience is preferred but not required; Working knowledge of Microsoft products; Positive personality and strong interpersonal skills; File organization and maintenance; Ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines; Excellent written and verbal communication skills. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) 5 years of IP docketing experience Patent, trademark, copyright, & TTAB docketing experience is preferred ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
