Senior Estimator - Mechanical & Fire Protection
Reporting directly to the Lead Estimator, the Senior Estimator will be responsible for: Preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical and fire protection scopes Leading takeoffs, pricing, and scope reviews for competitive bids Analyzing drawings, specifications, and addenda to ensure accurate pricing Collaborating with preconstruction, engineering, and operations teams Supporting projects across healthcare, life sciences, education, commercial, municipal, multifamily, and mission-critical sectors Reviewing subcontractor and vendor pricing for completeness and risk Assisting with value engineering and constructability reviews Mentoring junior estimators as needed MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. A successful Senior Estimator - Mechanical & Fire Protection should have: 8+ years of mechanical estimating experience, with fire protection as a core focus Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes, fire protection systems, and installation methods Mechanical construction background required Experience estimating projects in the Boston or Greater Boston market preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar (or equivalent industry experience) Proficiency with Microsoft tools, Bluebeam, takeoff software, and CRM systems Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment What's on offer: Base salary up to $140k, with flexibility for highly experienced candidates 401(k) with 3% company match Medical coverage through Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare, Delta Dental, and HRA Competitive PTO offering Job summary: Sector Construction Sub Sector Estimator Industry Property Location Waltham Contract Type Permanent
