About the Opportunity A leading global law firm is seeking a highly qualified Senior Associate to join its market-leading Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity practice. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on high-profile, complex, and transformational transactions for some of the world’s most sophisticated corporate and private equity clients.
The team advises across the full spectrum of M&A and private equity transactions, from strategic acquisitions and disposals to large-scale buyouts, carve-outs, and cross-border investments. With a truly global platform and deep industry expertise, the practice delivers commercial, strategic, and innovative solutions on the most significant deals in the market.
The Practice The M&A team supports clients on everything from day-to-day strategic transactions to the most complex and business-critical deals they face. The practice also provides comprehensive advisory support across shareholder activism, antitrust, board counselling, capital markets, ESG, executive compensation, leveraged finance, and tax matters.
The Private Equity team advises leading sponsors and portfolio companies across the full investment lifecycle — from initial investment through to exit — and handles more than 500 deals annually across a broad range of industries and jurisdictions.
The practice is particularly recognised for sophisticated cross-border carve-outs, tax-free spin-offs, going-private transactions, and multi-billion-dollar private equity deals.
The Role This position is suited to senior associates with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in mergers and acquisitions and/or private equity.
Key responsibilities include:
Advising corporate and private equity clients on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions Supporting buyouts, acquisitions, disposals, carve-outs, joint ventures, and strategic investments Managing sponsor-side private equity transactions across the full investment lifecycle Assisting with complex transaction structuring, negotiations, and execution Advising clients on shareholder activism, governance, and strategic risk considerations Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across finance, tax, regulatory, and capital markets practices
Candidate Profile
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in M&A and/or private equity from a leading law firm Strong experience handling sophisticated transactional work for corporate and sponsor clients Exposure to private equity sponsor-side work strongly preferred Excellent drafting, negotiation, and transaction management skills Strong academic credentials Commercially minded with excellent client-facing skills Ability to lead complex matters in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
