The Greens at Gastonia is seeking an experienced and dependable
Maintenance Director
to lead the daily operations of our maintenance department and help ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on leader who takes pride in facility operations, preventative maintenance, and creating a well‑maintained healthcare environment.
Position Summary The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing all building maintenance functions, equipment operations, preventative maintenance programs, life safety compliance, and vendor coordination throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Direct and manage all daily maintenance department operations
Develop, implement, and maintain maintenance policies and procedures
Oversee preventative maintenance programs for building systems and equipment
Ensure a safe, clean, and well‑maintained environment throughout the facility
Coordinate maintenance needs with Nursing, Dietary, Housekeeping, and other departments
Inspect storage areas, utility rooms, and facility grounds regularly
Supervise outside contractors and ensure work is completed properly
Assist with state surveys, inspections, and regulatory compliance
Develop plans of correction for any maintenance‑related deficiencies
Maintain records, reports, supply inventories, and department documentation
Recommend repairs, upgrades, and cost‑effective operational improvements
Qualifications
Previous maintenance leadership experience preferred
Skilled nursing, healthcare, hotel, apartment, or large facility maintenance experience a plus
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs
Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
Ability to manage vendors, priorities, and emergency repairs
Understanding of life safety and regulatory standards preferred
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required
