Packaging Associate

The Packaging Associate position is responsible for preparing, weighing, labeling, and packaging cannabis products at our cultivation facility in Frederick Maryland. In this role, maintaining accuracy in weight, fulfillment, and labelling is essential. You will ensure that all products comply with state regulations while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting daily production quotas. The ideal candidate will maintain a high degree of work safety, timeliness, and cleanliness, while also displaying the ability to work well within a team setting, and most importantly, be able to follow instructions. A secondary part of this role will be assisting the Post Harvest team with their duties as needed, including harvesting, bucking, and trimming.
This position will be badged by the Maryland Cannabis Administration (MCA), which requires fingerprinting and passing a background check by the candidate.
Responsibilities include:
Package plant material with proper labeling to ensure compliance with state regulations, including preparing products for delivery.
Quality control evaluation throughout all processes.
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including managing proper waste disposal.
Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.
Maintain daily logs for various processes.
Follow all state cannabis compliance laws and procedures.
Typical Working Conditions:
Daily work is performed in a busy cannabis cultivation facility, which includes exposure to bright lights, loud fans/filtration systems, and fluctuating temperatures. Daily work also includes varying lengths of standing, sitting, and bending over. Employees will be exposed to the normal chemicals found in any crop production facility (i.e. fertilizers). Proper PPE will be provided and must be worn at all times when necessary.
Salary
$18 USD per hour

Basic understanding of local, state, and federal laws.
Adherence to state cannabis laws and to OSHA requirements.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion.
Must be at least 21 years of age with valid proof of identification.
Must be able to pass a fingerprinting and background check.

Experience processing cannabis or other botanicals highly desirable
A solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.
